Use a custom domain for your status page
Every status page is served at HostTracker addresses that work immediately, with no DNS setup. Serving a page from
your own hostname, such as status.example.com, is planned but not available yet.
Where your page is served today
Section titled “Where your page is served today”https://status.host-tracker.com/<slug>https://www.host-tracker.com/status/<slug>Both serve the same page with a valid certificate. The slug is chosen when you create the page and cannot be changed.
If you want status.example.com in the meantime, you can link to your HostTracker address from your own site, or
embed the status card on a page you host.
How it is designed to work
Section titled “How it is designed to work”When custom domains become available, the setup is planned to be:
- On the page’s Settings tab, open Custom domain, enter the hostname and click Set up.
- Add the records the editor shows at your DNS provider - a
CNAMEpointing your hostname to HostTracker, and aTXTrecord that proves you own it. - Click Check status. DNS changes can take from a few minutes to a few hours; the status moves from Pending DNS to Live once the records validate and a certificate is issued.
- The HostTracker addresses keep working alongside your domain. Remove stops serving the page on your domain.
Planned rules: the feature is for the Enterprise band (not the 30-day trial), a hostname under host-tracker.com
is refused, and if a plan later stops including custom domains the domain stops serving (Plan downgraded)
until you upgrade again.
These details may change before launch; this page will be updated when the feature ships.
