Release notes
Changes that affect how you use HostTracker, newest first. Each entry links to the page that explains the feature when one exists. For the API, only changes that add or change behaviour are listed; the API stays backward compatible.
September 2026
Section titled “September 2026”28 September
- Accounts created with an email address only now stay signed in for 30 days after sign-up and after you confirm your email, the same as signing in with Remember me. A card on the Sites page lets you set a password (or use Google sign-in next time), so links in trial emails no longer stop at a sign-in form you cannot pass. See Your account.
- Public statistics pages of Site crawl monitors now show a short note instead of an empty page (crawl results stay visible only to the monitor’s owner), and the header shows the real schedule, for example “Every day at 19:13 UTC”.
26 September
- Fixes: bulk-editing monitoring locations on the Sites page, time-zone display in your profile, the notification log, the Save button after changing a monitor’s type, and Viber message delivery records.
24 September
- Status pages redesigned: a flat severity bar, a page per component, incident timelines, maintenance shown in blue, and the “Powered by HostTracker” credit on every page. See Status pages.
- Widgets have a new look with five new shapes: badge, status card, timeline, response-time card and strip.
23 September
- Free instant checks for visitors who are not signed in are limited to 10 per browser and 30 per IP address per day. The limit does not apply when you are signed in. See Instant checks vs monitors.
21 September
- The uptime report and the dashboard timeline were reworked: filters, drill-in from an incident, grouping by time zone and clearer selection. See Uptime reports.
- Widgets gained a compact layout and an indicator color preset that matches the app.
19 September
- Sign-in fixes: first-time Google, Microsoft and LinkedIn sign-ups land on the welcome page, and the confirmation code from your email is applied automatically when you open the link.
17 September
- Site crawl: each run is limited to 90 seconds, run details are shown on the dashboard, a Run now button starts a crawl immediately, a private deploy-hook URL can trigger one after you deploy, and results are more accurate (redirects, links and subdomains are handled correctly; subdomains are crawled only when you ask).
16 September
- New free tools: MX lookup and SSL certificate decoder.
15 September
- The free check tools were redesigned. You can sign up with just an email address from a check result and turn the checked site into a monitor.
14 September
- New free tools to check whether a page can be indexed: noindex checker, robots.txt tester and canonical checker.
13 September
- New monitor type: Site crawl (limited rollout). It crawls your site on a schedule, scores the issues it finds and shows what changed between runs.
- New Indexability add-on for HTTP monitors: alerts when a page’s meta robots, X-Robots-Tag or canonical tag changes. See Attached sub-checks.
- The dashboard’s “last checked” time now shows the real last check, not the start of the current event.
12 September
- New accounts get a setup wizard (add a monitor and contacts in place) and a guided tour of every page.
- Trial-ending emails 7 days and 1 day before the end, on the day and 8 days after, each with a plan that fits how many monitors you use. See Free trial.
10 September
- New pricing page with four plans: Solo, Webmaster, Business and Enterprise. See Plans.
7 September
- The HostTracker Terraform provider v0.1.0 is published on the Terraform registry. See Terraform.
6 September
- All notification emails use one new design, and each email contact can switch to plain text. See Email alerts.
3-6 September
- Fixes: IPv6 addresses in port checks, and the monitoring-locations picker (partial-region presets now save).
