Upgrade or downgrade your plan
You can change your plan at any time from Billing → Packages.
Switch your plan
Section titled “Switch your plan”- Open Billing → Packages.
- Choose the plan you want to switch to.
- HostTracker shows an impact preview - what changes for your account with the new plan: the new monitor cap, minimum check interval, and which of your current monitors or features would be affected.
- Confirm to apply the switch.
The impact preview reflects your account’s actual current usage at the moment you request it, so it’s always in sync when you confirm - if something about your account changes between opening the preview and confirming, HostTracker re-checks before applying it rather than acting on stale numbers.
What happens when you upgrade
Section titled “What happens when you upgrade”Your monitor cap and minimum interval improve immediately, and any features unlocked by the new plan (more assertions, status pages, subaccounts, and so on) become available right away.
Do it with the API
Section titled “Do it with the API”Package switching is an app-only feature - there is no public v2 API operation or MCP tool for it. The
app’s own switch flow calls a first-party, consent-based endpoint: GET /billing/switch-impact computes the
exact effect of switching to a given package (what would be paused, disabled or lost, and the price) and
returns it together with a hash; applying the switch must echo that same hash back, and a stale hash (because
your account changed in the meantime) is refused with the fresh impact to re-confirm - so a switch can never
be applied against numbers you didn’t actually see.
What happens when you downgrade
Section titled “What happens when you downgrade”If a downgrade puts you over the new plan’s limits (for example you have more monitors than the new cap allows, or a monitor’s interval is now below the new plan’s floor), HostTracker doesn’t delete anything:
- Monitors beyond the new cap are paused, not removed. You choose which ones to keep active, or upgrade again to bring them all back.
- A monitor whose interval is now below the new plan’s floor has its interval raised to the new floor.
- Features no longer included in your new plan (for example a status page custom domain) stop working until you upgrade again, but their configuration is preserved.
