# Integrations overview

Everything you do in the HostTracker app can also be done from your own tools. All of the surfaces below sit on one
[REST API v2](/integrations/rest-api/) and use one kind of credential: an API token you mint at
**Integrations -> API** (`/integrations/api`), or an OAuth sign-in for AI assistants.

## Pick the right tool

| You want to... | Use | Page |
|---|---|---|
| Call HostTracker from your own code in any language | REST API v2 (182 operations) | [REST API v2](/integrations/rest-api/) |
| Skip hand-written HTTP in TypeScript, Python, Go or .NET | Official SDKs | [Official SDKs](/integrations/sdks/) |
| Work from a terminal or a CI script | `ht-cli` | [ht-cli](/integrations/cli/) |
| Let Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or another AI assistant operate your account | MCP server (65 tools) | [MCP server](/integrations/mcp/) |
| Keep monitors, contacts, maintenance and status pages in version control | Terraform provider | [Terraform provider](/integrations/terraform/) |
| Smoke-test a deploy from GitHub Actions | HostTracker Check action | [GitHub Action](/integrations/github-action/) |
| Receive events (down, up, incidents, expiry, changes) at your own endpoint | v2 webhooks | [Webhooks](/integrations/webhooks/) |
| Send alerts to Slack, Teams, PagerDuty and other services | Alert contacts (set up in the app) | [Alert channels](/alerts/channels/) |

## Requirements

- **API access on your plan.** API access is a plan feature (Business and Enterprise include it) - see
  [which plans include the API](/integrations/rate-limits/#which-plans-include-the-api).
- **A token with the right scopes.** Scopes are per area (`monitor`, `contact`, `subs`, `webhook`, `statuspage`,
`account`, `check`) with separate read and write leaves. See
  [API authentication, tokens and scopes](/integrations/api-authentication/).
- **Quotas.** Each scope has per-minute and per-month call windows; see
  [Rate limits and quotas](/integrations/rate-limits/).

## Conventions that hold everywhere

- Base URL `https://api2.host-tracker.com`, header `Authorization: Bearer <token>`.
- Every timestamp is **Unix seconds**; monitor `interval` is in seconds.
- Errors are RFC 9457 problem documents with a stable `code` - see
  [Error codes](/reference/error-codes/#rest-api-v2-error-codes).
- Lists are cursor-paged (`limit` + `cursor`, `nextCursor` / `hasMore`).
- Writes accept an `Idempotency-Key` so retries are safe; some require one.
- Bulk operations and report generation return a job to poll.
